About Yvette
My experience working in church ministry opened my heart to the human condition and provided the catalyst for becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. Relationships are important to me and I am passionate about helping others find hope, peace, and love through healthy relationship.
I believe self-care is foundational to caring for others. In my personal life, I keep balance through healthy eating, exercise, prayer, creating abstract art, writing poetry, and spending time with family and friends. My counseling approach begins with the client/counselor relationship and learning how to love yourself and others. I frequently use spiritual disciplines, art and other creative activities during counseling sessions. Because balance is important to overall health, you can expect me to ask you about faith, fun, sex, and relationships.
My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I obtained sex therapy training through the Buehler Institute in Newport Beach, California. I am a National Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I am a Certified Sex Therapist by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapist (AASECT).
I would love to help you make positive change in your life!
Grace & Peace,
Yvette
